Building of new dwellings is now subject to the greenhouse target that will increase from 25% to 40% from July 2006.

Under the new planning initiative of the NSW Government all new dwellings are required to be designed and built to achieve a 40% reduction in water consumption and 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to the average dwelling.

Accredited Certifiers can acquire BASIX Certificate and check that all BASIX commitments have been built or installed before issuing an occupancy certificate.
